Clairemont Mesa Real Estate

Clairemont Mesa Real Estate is located in Central Coastal San Diego. Clairemont Mesa Real Estate is located close to the San Diego Beaches and has an excellent location relative to Downtown San Diego and most San clairemont-map-smDiego locations. Clairemont Mesa has mostly single story homes although many developers have been converting single story Clairemont Mesa Homes to two story homes, many with ocean and downtown views. Clairemont Mesa is in an area where there are many canyons which has the desirable effect of many of the homes having canyon views as well as being on cul-de-sacs. There are many neighborhoods within the Clairemont Mesa neighborhoods that have developed their own sense of who they are. The neighborhoods are filled with many homes some of which are original and some that have been added on to or remodeled.

The real estate, homes and condos in Clairemont Mesa have held their value very well during the San Diego bubble burst that started in and around 2006. Clairemont Mesa House Values have held very solid and should continue to do so into the new real estate markets. Areas of Clairemont Mesa like Bay Park and Bay Ho have some of the best ocean and downtown views in San Diego County. As a real estate agent for over 20 years in San Diego I have to say that it is one of the best real estate values in Southern California.

Clairemont Mesa Real Estate has 2 primary ZIP Codes 92110 and 92117. These are 2 great links to search for Clairemont Mesa Real Estate Homes and Condos :

Clairemont Mesa Morena and Bay Park Real Estate Search 92110 92117

Clairemont Mesa and Bay Ho Real Estate Search 92117

There are many great neighborhoods to choose from including Clairemont Mesa East, Clairemont Mesa West, Bay Ho, and Bay Park. There’s also the Morena Area off of Morena Blvd. There are2 great parks which are Tecolote Canyon Natural Park and Marian Bear Natural Memorial Park and both have excellent hiking and walking paths. There are so many homes to choose from and communities to live in that if you have any real estate questions concerning Clairemont Mesa Real Estate please call or email me. I would love to help.

Because Clairemont Mesa is so close to the San Diego Bay and Beaches it is an ideal place to live if you love outdoor activities and want to be close to them. Most area of Clairemont Mesa are 3 to 10 minutes to the Bay or Beach that are a popular location any time of the year in San Diego. Unlike some other communities of San Diego that are right on the beach, Clairemont Mesa does not have the huge traffic and parking issues that they have in the summer months. I’d love to show you all the real estate, homes and condos in Clairemont Mesa.

Please contact me if you have any questions about Clairemont Mesa Real Estate , Dawn Lewis.

South San Diego Home Prices Summer 2010

San Diego Real Estate Blog

Homes for sale in South San DiegoHome prices in most areas of South San Diego have come up in value since last summer. Homes in most zip codes rose in 2010 and in the zip codes where it dropped it only dropped a little. This is a good sign for the real estate market in southern San Diego and the overall San Diego home prices have on average gone up since last year at the same time. As usual the short sales have extremely long market times and can prove to be very trying for even the most seasoned of short sale experts.

The bank owned foreclosures and REO properties are still moving the fastest and seem to get many offers from investors edging out the first time home buyers and families who want to buy a home to live in. Some areas in South County have renewed their new home building programs and new home builders are throwing up the sticks again. Otay Ranch still has thousands of homes that are slated to be built sometime in the future. I’m sure the when depends on how soon the real estate market improves and shows steady growth. Many new home builders lost their properties and unfinished homes to the banks and they don’t want to make that mistake again. The bubble has long since broken and many homeowners are in the middle of a short sale or wish they were. Some home owners are in the middle of a foreclosure and looking for a rental to get out and start over. There’s always a next time.

The biggest house value gains were in National City while the most amount of loss was in Imperial Beach. Chula Vista areas like 91910, 91911 and 91914 had slight gains while zips 91913 and 91915 had slight declines in home values. With the economy not improving and the state of California in dire straits the real estate market can’t truly solidify and grow until the economy does and what we need to see that happen are jobs.

World War II Bomber Airplane Found at Bottom of Otay Lake in EastLake Chula Vista

Lower Otay Lake - Chula Vista California - August 2010

Who would believe that there was a World War II Bomber at the bottom of Lower Otay Lake in Eastern Chula Vista? I’ve fished this lake many times and hiked the hills around it for many years and never once imagined there was an airplane at the bottom of it let alone a rare Navy SB2C Helldiver. I can remember coming out to the Upper and Lower Otay Lakes back in the late 1980’s and all through the early 1990’s long before the real estate boom when homes sprung up around the lakes edges. I can remember cattle covering the fields and grazing on early misty mornings and lazy afternoons. It was more like a western scene from 100 years ago, long before there was an EastLake. When I first heard about the World War II Bomber in the Lower Otay Lake I immediately wondered how it got there and why it was being pulled out.

I had just finished up a round of golf at the EastLake Greens Golf Course on Saturday when my friend John brought up the airplane in the lake. I said let’s go see if it’s still there. We took a drive from the golf course through EastLake Greens on World War II War Plane Chula Vista LakeHunte Parkway and a right down Otay Lakes Road. We turned right onto Wueste Road and through EastLake Vistas down to the Lower Otay Lake. We knew right away that it was still there from the amount of cars parked along-side the road and the carnival like excitement on the people’s faces walking to and from the closed parking lot. We saw the erect white arm of the giant crane used to pull the Helldiver from its wet and muddy grave. As we parked and walked closer we saw the grey plane sitting on the rocky shoreline of the lake next to the fishing dock. Needless to say it looked pretty cool. My friend and I are both former Marines and this made out for an exciting encounter with a piece of military history. Kind of like meeting a war hero the likes of Chesty Puller or Dan Daly, although they are long dead this military hero was brought to life from its long dark and muddy sleep. This war plane had never seen combat but if its fait were of different circumstance I know it would have.

For the full story, much better than I could tell it please visit the Naval Aviation Museum Web Site for all the information on the Helldiver history and what’s going to happen to it.

San Diego Earth Fair 2010

San Diego April 18 2010OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The San Diego Earth Fair was held at Balboa Park in Downtown San Diego. This Earth Fair marked the 20th year of the event and the 40th anniversary of the first Earth Day. This event usually attracts about 70,000 visitors and covers the entire park. The Downtown San Diego Fair had over 350 exhibits and was spread out nicely across Balboa Park making the crowds seem less than there really was. Some vendors and exhibitors had better real estate than others but the Fair from my experience was a smashing success.

I was expecting to see the event taken over by the GREEN AGENDA but was pleasantly surprised to see most of the booths about nature and many about San Diego nature, wildlife, beaches, oceans and back country. We had to park about 2 miles way and walk in but the day was quite pleasant and who doesn’t love Balboa Park on a nice day. This is an event I would recommend if you get a chance to see it in the future.

An excerpt from the EarthDayWeb.org web site:

Our exhibitors form the heart of EarthFair. They represent every type of environmental organization, governmental program and commercial enterprise with goods, services and causes that address our environment and quality of life. Our exhibitor fees are graduated to allow everyone to participate, from the smallest organization to the largest corporation.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s impossible to list everything you’ll find at EarthFair: traditional conservation organizations, wildlife Earth Fair Earth Day San Diego 2010preservation groups, products made from natural and organically grown crops, organic gardening information, alternative energy vehicles, ecotourism opportunities, many alternative and traditional health care products and services, pet adoption services, clean air and clean water products, rainforest preservation groups … the list goes on and on.
