Village Walk at EastLake Chula Vista

Village Walk at EastLakeVillage Walk at EastLake is one of the most elegant shopping centers not only in EastLake but in all of San Diego County. Just East of Route 125 and just South of EastLake Shores this shopping center was one of the last ones built in the area. It is just north of EastLake Village Marketplace and they are two EastLake Shopping Centers that are easily within walking distance of each other. Village Walk at EastLake has a wonderful architectural scheme that feels old word European and the outside dining and sitting areas are extremely delightful. There is a wonderful fountain and a bronze sculpture of children playing located in the center. The favorite attraction of many visitors is the koi and turtle ponds that are filled with creatures. You can even buy food for them in machines and feed the fish and turtles. Bring your kids, they’ll love it.

Some of the businesses and restaurants in Village Walk at EastLake are:Village Walk at EastLake Koi Pond

Henry’s Farmers Market
Trader Joe’s
Pier 1 Imports
PETCO
Mission Federal Credit Union
AT&T
T.J. Maxx
The Broken Yolk Café
Brigantine Seafood
Pat & Oscars
And many more…..

If you’re in EastLake or any of the wonderful East Chula Vista Communities make sure you stop by and visit this wonderful shopping center. If you would like information on EastLake Real Estate make sure you call me. I’m your EastLake Real Estate Expert.

Hotel Del Coronado Video

Hotel Del CoronadoThe Hotel Del Coronado is rich in history and is one of San Diego’s most famous and visited landmarks. The Hotel Del Coronado is located on Coronado Island just west of Downtown San Diego. There are 2 ways to drive to the Hotel Del Coronado.  One way is to go over the Coronado Bridge from Interstate 5 that runs along the coast and the other is to go north up the Silver Strand Blvd. (75) from Imperial Beach. The most common way is option one over the San Diego Coronado Bay Bridge. You can also take the ferry or your private boat to some areas of the island.

The Hotel Del Coronado began construction in 1887, 2 years after the entire Island of Coronado was purchased for $110,000 by 3 investors.  A year later in 1888 the hotel was open for business. There was also a San Diego Real Estate Boom that went bust that added to this fascinating time. The history of the Hotel Del is very interesting and I would recommend a visit to the hotel to see it and experience it firsthand. There are some nice restaurants to eat at with great views of the beach and ocean. There are also plenty of shops to walk through and the Hotel is a great way to spend the day, evening or weekend.

Check out these great videos of the Hotel Del Coronado and the surrounding area:

Downtown San Diego City Skyline Views

There are many great spots to get a view of the Downtown San Diego City Skyline. One of them is North Harbor Drive by the San Diego Airport and the other is on Coronado Island at the Old Ferry Landing Shopping Downtown San Diego City ViewsCenter. Although there are some other areas that have great views of Downtown San Diego and its beautiful city skyline these 2 are some of my favorites. The North Harbor Drive view is looking Southeast at the city and the Coronado Island view is looking Northeast.

The North Harbor Drive view by the San Diego Airport, Lindberg Field, has the added bonus of many boats and ships on their moorings and if you’re lucky you may even see cruise ships docked alongside the city skyline as well. The video in this blog post has a cruise ship departing and airplanes arriving to America’s Finest City.

The Coronado Island view to Downtown San Diego at the Old Ferry Landing Shopping Center is also a great spot to eat or just sit on a park bench and watch the city. There are many shops and restaurants at this location and it is also a ferry landing. This is a very busy area with people enjoying the sights and activities while in comparison the N. Harbor Drive area is basically just a sidewalk and some small parking lots.

Enjoy these 2 Videos of Downtown San Diego and try and get out and see them for yourself.

Little Italy San Diego California Video

Little Italy is one of my favorite areas in Downtown San Diego. It’s not just the great food either it’s the great atmosphere as well. Little Italy in San Diego was also part of the last San Diego Real Estate Boom and many Little Italy San Diegonew condos and town houses were built in the Little Italy part of Downtown San Diego. There are lots of great shops to go shopping or just look around.

This is a great area to spend a weekend afternoon to stroll up and down the main street called India Street. Some of the well known restaurants are Filippi’s Pizza Grotto, Mimmo’s Italian Village, Landini’s Pizzeria and many others. There’s also lots of sidewalk dining that is very romantic and quite enjoyable. Very similar to some areas in the Gaslamp Quarter down by PETCO Park home of the San Diego Padres.

Little Italy in Downtown San Diego, California also has many events where the India Street is closed down for pedestrians. If you live in San Diego or if you’re visiting San Diego make sure you stop by Little Italy. You’ll be happy you did.

This video is of Little Italy and most of it was filmed looking south on India Street.

Hotel Del Coronado Beach Walk Video

Hotel Del CoronadoThe Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island is one of if not the most well known landmark in all of San Diego. The Hotel Del Coronado and the surrounding beaches and community are one of the best parts about living in San Diego, it’s so incredibly Californian. When it starts warming up so does the traffic of visitors wanting to enjoy this world famous hotel on the beach. The visitors include vacationers and many San Diegans that frequent the Hotel for its pure beauty and location. There’s always something going on at the Hotel Del whether it’s winter, spring, summer or fall.
Check out this great video of the sidewalk on the beach in front of the Hotel Del Coronado.

PETCO Park 2011 Home Opener - San Diego Padres

PETCO Park Downtown San Diego April 5, 2011San Diego Padres 2011

It was a beautiful sunny day in San Diego for the Padre Season Opener at PETCO Park. The stadium was packed and the fighter jets flew over to christen the 2011-2012 baseball season in San Diego. Since the Padres PETCO Parkballpark opened in downtown in the Gaslamp Quarter the Padre games have taken on a new element of being exciting because of the great stadium, PETCO Park and the great location of Downtown San Diego. The energy is awesome and purely San Diegan.

The World Series Champions San Francisco Giants were in town and so were many of their fans to root them on. In the section that I was sitting in with my family I was in the middle of arguments between Padre and Giant fans to the point where a Padre fan was kicked out by the police for allegedly threatening a Giant fan. So much for a nice day at the ballpark with the family, it got a little out of hand.

Other than that incident the Padres had a great game and defeated the Giants 3 to 1. It was a little cool once the sun went down but we all got free Padre T-Shirts which added an extra layer of warmth. This was the first Padre game of the 2011 – 2012 baseball season and there will be many more I will attend this year. A baseball game at PETCO Park is a staple for San Diego Sports Fans. Come check a few out this year.
