Bay Ho is the most northwest portion of Clairemont.
Bay Ho is located in zip code 92117. Bay Ho is south of University City, east of Pacific Beach and La Jolla, north of Bay Park and west of Clairemont Mesa West and North Clairemont. Bay Ho real estate in most cases gets more expensive the closer you get to the ocean mostly due to some of the incredible ocean, beach, bay and downtown views. Many of the homes by Moraga Avenue and Jutland Drive can be upwards of $1,000,000 and more. Some of these homes have been torn down or added on to and the increased square footage and the architectural design taking advantage of views and canyons have brought up the Bay Ho community home values. Stevenson Canyon separates the Bay Ho communities off of Moraga Ave. and the communities off of Clairemont Drive. Stevenson Canyon is a nice smaller canyon that sits on its own and is not part of the larger canyons of Clairemont like San Clemente Canyon in north Bay Ho.
Bay Ho also has a healthy supply of duplexes that are sought after by investors and home buys alike. These will sell fast when they come on the market for sale and will almost always have multiple offers and many are cash offers. There are also some 2 bedroom 1 bath homes in Bay Ho that rarely come on the market for sale. There weren’t many of the 2 bedroom detached single family homes built in this area of Clairemont.
Cool breezes from the ocean flow up the mesa from the ocean and keep an almost constant breeze blowing in this area of Clairemont. It’s quite wonderful. There can be some June Gloom and May Grey in this area as well as some foggy mornings but most residents love this about Bay Ho. Most people shop and dine at the Clairemont Town Square which is just to the northeast at the intersection of Clairemont Drive and Clairemont Mesa Blvd. There is a small shopping area at the corner of Moraga Ave. and Geddes Drive with a Pizza, Taco and Liquor store. Another is towards the west end of Luna Drive at the intersection of Havasupai Ave. and Gallatin Way with a pet spa, salon and liquor store. These little areas in a residential community make Bay Ho a pretty unique place to live.
The most western portion of Bay Ho east of Interstate 5 has an industrial area off of Morena Blvd. which goes south through Bay Park all the way to Old Town San Diego. There are lots of different businesses here and restaurants and some of them include; Costco Wholesale, Kettlebell X Training, San Diego Harley Davidson, IsaBella Bistro Pizzeria and Craft Beer and more.
