Mission Beach is the southern most portion of Pacific Beach. Mission Beach also has the most Pacific Ocean coastline and bay front coastline out of all the Pacific Beach communities. Mission Beach is a long skinny strand of land with the Pacific Ocean on one side and Mission Bay on the other. Mission Beach is split evenly by Mission Blvd. with West Mission Beach on one side and East Mission Beach on the other. In my younger years I lived on Jamaica Court 4 blocks from the Belmont Park Roller Coaster and one block to the beach. Those were some great times in a fun part of San Diego.

If you like the beach, Mission Beach might be the place for you. The summer months bring many tourists to Pacific Beach and the beaches are very crowded and lively. Parking can be tough to find and many in Mission Beach get around on bikes. Belmont Park is a great place to spend an afternoon. It is a seaside amusement park and has a roller coaster, many assorted rides and games for all. Cotton candy and popcorn too! Mission Beach is south of Pacific Beach, north of Ocean Beach, west of Seaworld and Vacation Island, and east of the Pacific Ocean.

Crown Point is a peninsula in the southern mid section of Pacific Beach. Crown Point is divided right down the middle by Ingraham Street which runs north to south. The Crown Point peninsula is surrounded on all 3 sides by beaches on Mission Bay. The beaches also have a very wide sidewalk for activities like, walking, jogging, running, rollerblading, biking and others. Crown Point is also a great area to sea the fireworks at Seaworld.

To the south of Crown Point is Vacation Island and as you go over the Ingraham Street Bridge you’re going over Fisherman’s Channel. To the east are Crown Point Drive and Mission Bay Park and Crown Point Shores. Fiesta Island, the land mass in the distance, is a short kayak trip from Crown Point Shores and is home to the Annual San Diego over the Line Tournament. To the west is Riviera Drive, Riviera Shores, Mission Bay, Sails Bay and off in the distance is the strand of Mission Beach. To the north is the community of Pacific Beach at Roosevelt Avenue.

Pacific Beach has 6 neighborhoods and one of them is called Pacific Beach. The others are; North Pacific Beach, Pacifica, East Pacific Beach, Crown Point, and Mission Beach. Pacific Beach has the second most ocean front real estate for sale, second only to Mission Beach. Pacific Beach is defines by its borders of Beryl Street to the north, Lamont Street to the east, Roosevelt Avenue and Sail Bay to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. This area of Pacific Beach has the town of Pacific Beach which is on Garnet Ave. The two main roads coming in and out of Pacific Beach from east to west are Garnet Avenue and Grand Avenue. Mission Boulevard runs from north to south one block from the Pacific Beach sand and runs from La Jolla to Mission Beach. Crystal Pier is at the end of Garnet Ave.

The town of Pacific Beach in the Pacific Beach area has many beach type businesses like, surf shops, fast food, sidewalk dining, bar and grills, clothing shops, bike and boogie board rentals and so on. The town has remained the same for as long as I can remember except for a few parking changes and business turnovers. If you want to spend a great day in one of San Diego great beach towns stop by Pacific Beach and you’ll have an authentic San Diego beach experience. This is also a great area to rent a condo or stay at a hotel right on the beach.

Pacific is located in the north east corner of Pacific Beach. Many of the homes and condos in this part of P.B. are built on a hillside and have wonderful ocean or Downtown San Diego views or both. It is the second smallest area of Pacific Beach only to Crown Point which is the smallest. As you head up to Mount Soledad in La Jolla on Soledad Mountain Road, Pacific will be on your right while North Pacific Beach will be on your left. Pacific goes as far north as Amity Street and ends at the dead end on Pacifica Drive going north from P.B. La Jolla is at the northern border of Pacifica. To the east of Pacifica Highway 5 and to the south of Pacifica is East Pacific Beach which starts at the Pacific Beach Military Housing on Bluffside Avenue and Pico Street.

Because Pacific boarders La Jolla and is in the foothills of Mount Soledad it has somewhat of a La Jolla feel. Because of that La Jolla feel prices are generally higher than the flatter parts of Pacific Beach but not as high as homes and condos on or close to the ocean or bay. Pacific beach has something for everyone. Within its 6 communities there is a good variation of different homes, condos, geography and neighborhood look and feel.

North Pacific Beach is in the North West portion of Pacific Beach located in San Diego. North West Pacific Beach boarders La Jolla to the north, the Pacific Ocean and part of southern La Jolla to the west, Beryl Street and Pacific Beach to the south, and Soledad Mountain Road and Pacifica to the east. Other Pacific Beach areas include; Pacifica, Pacific Beach, East Pacific Beach, Crown Point, and Mission Beach.

This area of Pacific Beach has beautiful street names like, Sapphire Street, Opal Street, Tourmaline Street, Turquoise Street, and more. I would have to say they are appropriately named for gems since this part of Pacific Beach is a gem. For many parts of North Pacific Beach the Tourmaline Surfing Park is within walking distance or a short bike ride. This is a wonderful Northern Pacific Beach area for surfing, swimming or just soaking up the California sun.

Pacific Beach in San Diego California is by far the most popular beach in San Diego. Pacific Beach or “PB” as San Diegans call it is a great beach community that’s very young and hip with miles of beach coastline and a great beach town to shop and dine. Pacific Beach has many little beach town neighborhoods within its borders. Some of the Pacific Beach 92109 Neighborhoods are North Pacific Beach, Pacifica, Pacific Beach, East Pacific Beach, Crown Point, and Mission Beach. Many people that move to San Diego make their first residence in Pacific Beach over other San Diego Communities. The History of modern day Pacific Beach began in 1885 when the Transcontinental Railroad reached San Diego and Pacific Beach. The railroad company and the Chamber of Commerce started marketing the Pacific Beach area which caused a large migration to San Diego and Pacific Beach.

Real estate became available in the form of lots in the Mission Bay area of Pacific Beach at the time known as False Bay. This was in December of 1887 and history showed it was a very successful real estate boom. The railroad continued on into La Jolla in 1894. Pacific beach was primarily a small town farming community growing mostly lemons until the early 1900´s.

Over the years Pacific Beach has seen major growth but still has that old San Diego beach town feel. Some of the major attractions in Pacific Beach are the Pacific Ocean and the beach, Crystal Pier, the boardwalk, Kate O. Sessions Park and Belmont Beachfront Amusement Park with its Giant Dipper Roller Coaster.

Real estate in Pacific Beach varies widely from ocean front to bay front and from flat land walking distance to the beach to the foothills of La Jolla. There is a wide variety of detached homes and condos in Pacific Beach.
